studio

second semester thus far. looking at the idea of collecting/archiving/storing and why people collect objects.
trying to read nausea by sartre...
looking at louise nevelson, boltanski, annette messager, various anthropologist's collections, collections of Peter the Great.

collecting shelves, drawers, small boxes (cigar boxes, jewelry boxes), mason jars, doll parts, mugs, string, and adverbs.  the things that i havn't received as donations from people, i've gotten from Habitat for Humanity.

If you have any things/collections of things that you've been holding on to and would be willing to donate, let me know! for example, one person gave me an old candy jar, another gave me a dead, petrified mouse, someone is sending me old photos in the mail, i have another person who is donating teeth that her father (an orthodontist) has held on to and old eye-glasses of her grandparents'.
